What It Takes to Be a Driver at ORT
To ensure that our drivers meet the high standards we set for safety and service, Ozark Regional Transit requires the following:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL): A CDL is essential for operating our vehicles. If you don't have one yet, don't worry—we provide training to help you obtain the necessary license.
Clean Driving Record: A clean driving record is crucial for ensuring our passengers' safety and maintaining our community's trust. We conduct thorough background checks as part of our hiring process.
Excellent Customer Service Skills: You’ll interact with passengers daily, so strong communication and customer service skills are necessary. We’re looking for friendly, patient individuals who can handle various situations professionally.
Ability to Pass a DOT Physical: As a safety-focused organization, all drivers must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam to ensure they are fit for duty.
Flexibility and Reliability: Transportation operates on tight schedules, so we need punctual and dependable drivers. Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, is also important.
